Supported by IKI, the ETRELA project has reached an exciting new stage, bringing hands-on training to universities in Brazil (UNICAMP), the Dominican Republic (INTEC), and Honduras (UNAH). These activities follow more than two years of preparation, which included designing new laboratories, procuring specialized equipment, and participating in preparatory online training sessions.
Two Wind Energy trainings took place in Brazil and the Dominican Republic, introducing equipment such as a Wind Tunnel for hands-on experiments. The Dominican Republic session was honoured by a visit from Her Excellency, Maike Friedrichsens, the German Ambassador, highlighting the strong support for developing renewable energy expertise. In Honduras, the first Solar Thermal training session with the new laboratory provided participants with practical experience in modern technologies.
In all trainings, professors and educators from external universities were invited to join the sessions, sharing knowledge and learning from each other across borders. At the same time, RENAC works closely with the universities to make sure new materials, topics, and exercises are sustainably integrated into the university`s study programmes for long-term impact.
